About this design
This pattern is adapted from Dancing Fox by Ohara Koson (Japanese, 1877–1945), 1900–1910s (Color woodcut). It is in the collection of The Cleveland Museum of Art, which releases the image under CC0 (public domain). The museum notes: "In this whimsical Japanese color woodcut, a fox holds a giant green leaf on its head and dances on its hind legs in the rain."
The chart uses 14 DMC colours and 6,160 full cross stitches; the background is left unstitched so the fabric shows through. On 14-count Aida it measures 16.3 x 26.1 cm (6.4 x 10.3 in).
